OFten I want to add additional comments to the line item of something sold based on what the custoemr required for the order, and I want to show that text on the sales quote, pick list, packing list, and invoice.  I've played with the line item notes and that field appears to be for internal notes only.

These comments are unique to this specific order.  Is anyone aware of a way to accomplish this?

The line item Notes are printed on the packing slip and on the pick list. There are not printed on invoices and quotes. The only way to add specific line item notes to the invoices and sales quotes for now is to use customer part column on the shipping order screen. It is hidden by default. Click the grid button on the Shipping Orders/Line Items screen to see hidden columns. We probably to modify the software to show line item notes on the invoices as well. I have added it to the list of improvements.

I used the grid to see the other possible fields, and I see one field labeled Text that is not displayed by default.  I entered text in the field, and searched the help documents, but did not find a reference for the purpose of this field.
 
Can you elaborate on the purpose of this field and how it might be used?

This is an optional field. Optional fields can be used in the reports and form printouts by users. However, there is little documntation on this. We usually provide help and configure the software on the client by client basis.
I owe you an email. I will try to answer later today. The MS access crashes have been worked around.
